Amid growing public concerns around COVID-19, post-secondary campuses in Ontario are continuing to support student mental health. CICMH has created and collated resources that may be helpful.
More Feet on the Ground is an online resource intended to be a one-stop shop for any campus professional or student leader looking to understand more about mental health and refer a student to relevant programs or departments. It was developed to help faculty, administration and campus staff learn how to recognize, respond and refer students experiencing mental health issues on campus.
In this webinar, Dr. Philip Sullivan, Mishka Blacker, and Jenny Philavanh from Brock University, along with Heather Gillespie from CMHA Niagara and Alex Salomie from CMHA Ontario, will discuss a recent pilot of CMHA Ontario's sports mental health program, Talk Today. The pilot, implemented during the fall semester, involved over 50 athletes from Brock's women's rugby and men's soccer teams. These teams received mental health and suicide prevention education and were paired with on-campus and off-campus mental health coaches to provide support throughout the season.
This a template of a roommate agreement that can help protect you against common problems that arise between roommates. Roommates can work on the agreement together and decide what kinds of topics it will cover.
