Green Folder Initiative

A resource to help faculty and staff identify and respond to students in distress has been distributed across Queens campus. Faculty and staff members can use the folder to store additional documents related to mental health and wellness, so that if a student is in distress and needs advice, response how-to’s and referral information is readily available. It lists contact information for emergencies, identifies situations requiring immediate referral or reporting, situations requiring attention, and additional signs of distress; it provides specific information about what to do and say in order to respond effectively; the folder also includes guidance for making a good referral and what to do if a student says no to a referral. A companion Green Card, for students is available here.
