Reach Out – Student Organization

Reach Out at York University is a student organization designed to raise awareness about mental health to help reduce the stigma, as well as to provide an avenue for students to engage in workshops instructed by students and professionals to cope with school and personal life related stress. As students, we understand that due to time restraints, we often neglect stress by anticipating that it will be reduced with our workload. However, it is imperative to understand that stress is the seed for many mental health illnesses. Reach Out was founded to curtail this seed. Our mandate extends to reduce stress brought on by university life, by providing students with an avenue to connect with one another and offer emotional support.
