In Canada, 2SLGBTQIA+ youth face a greater risk of poor mental health outcomes. While various supports may be available to the general population, it’s important to understand the unique experiences 2SLGBTQIA+ students face. Additionally, it is crucial to understand how intersectional identities influence mental health outcomes and the considerations.
In light of this, CICMH is piloting a new workshop on Supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ Students on Campus. This new training, based on the Invisible Intersections Toolkit, will provide an introductory overview of 2SLGBTQIA+ students’ mental health, looking at challenges and stressors with an intersectional lens, and recommendations for campuses.
The pilot workshop will be held on May 21st, 2026, at 3:00 – 4:00 PM EST. This will be an opportunity to attend the workshop, gain insight, and provide your feedback on the content based on your professional or lived experience.
