Our team is seeking an experienced individual to join us as a Knowledge and Research Lead. Reporting to the Director, CICMH, this position will provide knowledge and research management to campus and community partners to support and advance the goals and objectives of CICMH. This is a full-time, contract role until November 1, 2022, with a possibility to extend. It is based in Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze mental health initiatives and frameworks by reviewing relevant literature, conducting interviews, collecting and analyzing statistical data, and sharing knowledge with post-secondary stakeholders on current issues
  • Draw on existing bodies of knowledge or evidence from research and other sources, and works with key stakeholders to provide tailored, evidence-informed guidance and practical tools to facilitate desired changes in practice, programs, or policies
  • Develop and compile evidence-based resources for online and offline knowledge management purposes (toolkits, information sheets, webinars)
  • Prepare and facilitate knowledge exchange programs, including webinars, videos
  • Deliver presentations at regional forums, conferences, workshops, and symposia
  • Through facilitating the collaborative efforts of stakeholders and partners, use effective knowledge mobilization approaches to encourage the application of evidence in practice, program and policy development and implementation
  • Build partnerships with other academic, clinical, and community researchers to enhance CICMH’s information base
  • Maintain knowledge of current national and international best and emerging practices in post-secondary student mental health research and evaluation
  • Support evaluations and assessments of mental health projects across the province through the creation of toolkits and resources
  • Conduct statistical analyses to determine the effectiveness of CICMH’s work
  • Maintain, update, and manage relevant sections of CICMH’s website
  • Respond to internal and external research information requests including literature reviews
  • Prepare reports, documents, and publications for internal and external audiences
  • Assist in developing and reorganizing online platforms
  • Outreach to community partners and campus mental health projects across the province
  • Create and facilitate curriculum delivered to varied campus stakeholders, including Campus Mental Health Works training

 

Requirements:

 

We are seeking a highly collaborative individual with strong interpersonal skills, who takes initiative, has well-developed time management skills, and is highly adaptable. The successful candidate will have solid organizational commitment, and strong critical thinking and strategic problem-solving skills.

 

  • University degree in psychology, sociology, health-related research or a related field required
  • 5-7 years of experience with knowledge management, psychoeducation, or research analysis
  • Experience with knowledge mobilization, including webinars, online resource libraries, and developing emerging and best practices content
  • Knowledge of campus mental health an asset
  • Superior organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal; fluency in French an asset
  • Strong research analysis, writing, and editing skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Ability to synthesize information for varied audiences
  • Experience with community engagement for the purpose of developing knowledge mobilization products, such as toolkits, learning modules, lay and research publications, and policy briefs, using feedback from knowledge users
  • Experience using WordPress and hosting webinars
  • Strong outreach skills with community partners and campus mental health projects an asset
  • Knowledge of the post-secondary system an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities, cultures, perspectives, and health service providers an asset

 

Working Conditions:

 

This position is based in Toronto. Travel is expected 1-2 times per month within Ontario, which may require an overnight stay, depending on location. (Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our office is currently closed, and colleagues are working virtually. No work travel is currently permitted.)

 

This role is both an active job of continuous outreach and desk work with extended periods of sitting, reading, telephone interaction, and/or working at the computer. Attendance at various meetings throughout the workday/workweek will be required; meetings may occur on short notice, depending on the circumstances.

 

This position does not have direct reports. It is within the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.

 

Salary: $66,000 – $68,850
