Anxiety is our body’s completely normal response to a threat to our well-being. We need anxiety and fear to react accordingly in the face of danger. However, anxiety can become a problem when it doesn’t give us useful information or when it contributes to our distress and avoidance. Sometimes, this anxiety or fear can come on suddenly and uncontrollably, leading to a panic attack.
