YU Start

The YU START New Student Transition Program is a collaborative program designed to support new students during the period of transition to university (from the time of accepting an offer of admission to end of first year). In addition to the centralized coordination of communications to incoming students, YU START includes four main components:

1) Online Enrolment Tutorial: A first year course selection tutorial supporting first year course selection enrolment online

2) University 101: An interactive online orientation platform with content on topics including “Finances”, “Getting Involved”, and “Safety and Inclusion”.

3) Facebook Groups: Online discussion forum for students to connect to fellow incoming student and upper-year mentors in their program.

4)  York Orientation Day: an in-person opportunity for new students to meet classmates, mentors, and faculty and to discover campus (during Fall Orientation Week)
