YU Start

The YU START New Student Transition Program is a collaborative program designed to support new students during the period of transition to university (from the time of accepting an offer of admission to Co-Curricular Days in the Fall term). In addition to the centralized coordination of communications to incoming students, YU START includes three main components:

1) Online Enrolment Tutorial: A first year course selection tutorial supporting first year course selection enrolment online

2) Online Learning Communities: Online discussion forum for students to connect to fellow incoming students and upper-year mentors in their program, supplemented by online workshops covering topics such as “Getting Involved” and “Becoming a YorkU Citizen”.

3) On-campus Orientation Event: an in-person opportunity for new students to meet classmates, mentors, and faculty and to discover the Keele campus (during Fall Orientation Week)
