2023 Canadian Health Survey on Children and Youth — Changes in the mental health of respondents from the 2019 survey

A longitudinal component of the 2023 Canadian Health Survey on Children and Youth by Statistics Canada. The survey revisited individuals from the 2019 survey to assess how the physical and mental health of children and youth has evolved over the last four years. The findings released in the 2023 survey concentrate on self-reported mental health and reveal that approximately a quarter of youth noted changes in their mental health during the four-year follow-up. Notably, teenage girls in 2023 were the most likely to report declines in their mental health since 2019.
