COPE

COPE is a student mental health initiative at McMaster University. They offer general awareness about mental health, well-being and mental illness on campus through social events and connecting students to additional resources on peer supports and wellness education. They have worked closely with MSU Diversity Services in their Diversify ME program in their “Abilities” pillar to encourage McMaster students to step outside of their comfort zones, become involved on campus and engage in events which celebrate the diversity of our University. Other examples of collaboration to further mental health education includes participating in the SHEC Addictions Awareness Fair (November 2014), Soul Food Fair (with McMaster Disabilities Awareness Committee, McMaster Chaplaincy Centre, Student Wellness Center in January 2015), and Disabilities Awareness Day (with McMaster School of Social Work, January 2015).
