Guidelines for Enhancing the Engagement of People With Lived Experience Across the HSJCC Network

This resource created by the Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee (HSJCC) was designed to provide guidance on engaging people with lived experience in a meaningful way. It provides concrete strategies and resources for local and regional committees in the HSJCC network to best direct their engagement of people with lived experience.

The report provides a brief history of activism within the psychiatric consumer/survivor movements and prisoner’s rights movements. The report then highlights strategies for engagement in the areas of laying the groundwork, recruitment and orientation, access and equity, compensation and support, and privacy and confidentiality.
