#chatsafe: A Young Person's Guide to Communicating Safely Online about Self-harm and Suicide

Funded by Mental Health Commissions of Canada, the #chatsafe guidelines were adapted and translated to Canadian populations from its Australian counterpart. This guide intends to educate young people (12 - 25 years old) on how to safely discuss self-harm or suicide online with peers, in contexts ranging from content creation, livestreams, pacts to communities and influencers.

Ontario Health has released new virtual care guidance around the delivery of care to those living with depression and anxiety-related conditions. The Ontario Health’s ‘Clinically Appropriate Use of Virtual Care for Depression and/or Anxiety-Related Conditions’ is intended to support health care professionals in making decisions about the clinically appropriate use of virtual care modalities, such telephone and videoconferencing, when delivering care to people living with depression and/or anxiety-related conditions. An expert panel, comprised of both people with lived experience and health care professionals, provided advice and insights about virtual care to shape the development of this guidance. The information provided in the guidance is intended to supplement, rather than replace, any related legislation, regulation, college practice, standards and policies, government directives or public health guidance.
