Transitions between Secondary & Postsecondary

From Nov 2 – 4, 2015 the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) hosted their Consensus Conference on the Mental Health of Emerging Adults in Ottawa. This conference focused on removing barriers that can prevent successful transition from child and youth to adult mental health services. The conference also built upon the recommendations from Changing Directions, Changing Lives: The Mental health Strategy for Canada.

The Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health’s Director, Catherine Willinsky, attended and delivered a presentation on “Transitions between Secondary & Postsecondary” for the panel theme of “transitions across system sectors”. This presentation includes recommendations for secondary and postsecondary schools with respect to transition services and supports for student mental health and well-being and, you can view the presentation slides to the right.

Please join us in a discussion about resources, key take aways or learnings for postsecondary that emerged from the conference on our Online Community of Practice, here. Please note that you need to be a registered member to participate in these discussions. You can join anytime at http://connects.campusmentalhealth.ca/
