New research from the Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (SRDC) and the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO) examines the economic impact of postsecondary non-completion in Ontario. The analysis shows that while students who begin postsecondary education benefit compared to those who never attend, students who do not complete a credential earn significantly less over their lifetimes than graduates, resulting in lost benefits for students, institutions, governments, and society.
The findings suggest that improving access to supports and helping students complete their programs could generate substantial financial and social benefits for individuals and the province as a whole.
