This report discusses the strengths and challenges of the Counselling Practicum Program at York University’s Student Counselling, Health and Well-being department from the perspective of clients, practicum students and supervisors.

The Counselling Practicum at SCHW is an eight-and-a-half-month long program which offers graduate students a placement with the department to bridge theory with practice, further their clinical expertise, obtain direct client contact hours, and work towards the completion of their academic programs.
