Mental health awareness training is important in building a supportive campus for students. More Feet on the Ground is an online training tool on how to Recognize, Respond and Refer students experiencing mental health issues on-campus. This online training tool seeks to address the lack of training on mental health and addictions and responds to the specific needs of post-secondary students. Join us, as we navigate this tool and explore the 4 R’s:
1. Recognize indicators of mental health challenges
2. Respond in a way that is appropriate to the indicators that are present and the relationship you have with the student
3. Refer to the appropriate resources if needed, so that student can access the services available to them
4. Reflect on the experience and practice self-care.
