More Feet on the Ground: Recognize, respond, refer and reflect (Train the trainer workshop)

*Note: This is a training workshop for trainers who wish to deliver MFOTG on campus.

The MFOTG course prepares campus staff and student leaders to support students on campus who may be living with mental health concerns.

Specifically, they will learn to:

RECOGNIZE indicators that a student may be experiencing mental health concerns;

RESPOND appropriately to a student who needs support, based on the indicators present and your relationship with the student;

REFER students to mental health supports and services in an appropriate way; and

REFLECT after interacting with a student who may be upset or distressed.

Please note that this workshop is for staff who wish to learn how to deliver the MFOTG training on their campus. There is no pre-work needed, but I encourage you to take a look at the MFOTG site to familiarize yourselves with some of the themes and see what your future participants/trainees might be expected to learn. https://morefeetontheground.ca

During the workshop, we’ll discuss the different ways that you can deliver MFOTG on your campus, I’ll provide you with a facilitator’s guide, examples of exercises that you can use in your training sessions, and we’ll address some of the FAQ that have arisen in other training sessions.
