UW Advisory Committee on Mental Health: Students Needed
WATERLOO — A move by the University of Waterloo to create an advisory committee on mental health after a second student suicide on campus should have students on its task force to offer suggestions on their mental health.
That’s the advice of Tana Nash, executive director of the Waterloo Region Suicide Prevention Council.
“Who better to tell them what they need and what they see as helpful,” Nash said.
Nash, who assisted the University of Guelph with four student deaths, said as a community, organizations should be working together “rather than in silos” to find solutions.
