Youth wellness pop-up event a success

Dear Editor: A phenomenal success! There’s no other way to describe the city’s first ever youth wellness pop-up event.

Organizers of the Timmins Youth Wellness Hub hosted the event for local youth on July 25th at Gillies Lake sports field.

Over 100 youth, ages 12-25 years old, participated in the day’s activities and shared their ideas about the Youth Wellness Hub, planned to launch in the Fall. Young people in our community are enthusiastically supportive of the proposed Youth Wellness Hub and are excited to be part of it.

Co-created by youth, the Youth Wellness Hub will be a safeinclusive, welcoming space for all youth in Timmins aged 12-25 years old to connect with others and access activities, resources and services that support their well-being.

Our event would not have been successful without the tremendous leadership of our team of youth connectors who planned and organized this event and worked tirelessly during the day gathering input from all the youth participants.

We also received incredible support from the following community partners who provided equipment, supplies, staff, volunteers and other resources.
