Episode 14 – Young Caregivers in Post-secondary with Fiona Lacey and Victoria MacMillan
In this episode, our guests Fiona Lacey (Program Lead for Peer Support and Young Caregivers at the Ontario Caregiver Organization (OCO)) and Victoria MacMillan (a recent Toronto Metropolitan University graduate and OCO placement student) will discuss young caregivers in post-secondary. About Fiona Lacey
Fiona (she/her) is the Program Lead for Peer Support and Young Caregivers at the Ontario Caregiver Organization and has been in the role since 2022. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Women and Gender Studies. Since 2012, Fiona has focused on youth engagement, mental health, mentorship, and peer support. Her previous roles have involved coordinating in-school programming and facilitating programming at a Toronto-based youth mental health agency.
About Victoria MacMillan
Victoria (she/her) is a recent graduate from Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care program. While completing her degree, she was a placement student with the Ontario Caregiver Organization in her final year. Victoria has worked with children, youth, and their families in various advocating capacities while being a young caregiver herself. She is currently working as an editor/assistant for a highly successful relationship expert in Oakville.
